The must-have foundation brush

I like to think I have a good collection of makeup brushes. I had 3 different ones before I got my new Sigma F80. I have the Clinique powder foundation brush, the Body Shop foundation brush and the Sephora Pro Airbrush brush. 

Then I heard about the Sigma F80. It is a flat kabuki foundation brush used for liquid and cream foundations. The flat, dense bristles make for a flawless, even application. I'm seriously in love! If you're looking for a new foundation brush, I highly recommend the Sigma F80!

Simple crockpot applesauce

I went to the apple orchard last weekend and decided to try my hand at homemade applesauce. I only used 5 ingredients and it tastes so good! Here's what I did. 

6 medium sized apples (I used Cortland) peeled and cut into large chunks

3/4 cup water

1 Tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract 

2 tsp cinnamon (use more if you love)

I peeled and cut up the apples and placed them in my crockpot. Then I mixed the remaining ingredients together and stirred until well mixed. Pour the liquid over the apples and stir until all apples are coated. I set my crockpot on high for about 2 hours. Mix/mash the apples until well blended. Viola! Homemade chunky applesauce :)

Fall must-have lipsticks

I love fall. There's just something about hoodies and apple cider. Plus fall means football. I thought I would share a few of my favorite lipsticks that are great for this time of year. 


Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Twilight Nude

I love Clinique lipstick, no matter which formula it is. I think it wears really well. The Long Last does not stain or dry out. Feels great when applied. I love this color because it's not too deep of a color yet has the prettiest violet hue.

Lorac Pro Matte Lip Color in Mauve

I love this for a few reasons. The PRO tip makes it so easy to apply! It just glides on your lips and is very long lasting. This color is perfect for everyday wear morning or night. It's basically a liner and lipstick in one, and who doesn't love a double-duty product. The Merlot color is beautiful as well if you want a red lip. 

NARS Sheer Lipstick in Roman Holiday

A beautiful sheer pink lipstick with a tiny hint of purple. NARS lipsticks have ingredients to actually improve the condition of your lips which is why they feel so amazing when you put them on. Roman Holiday also comes in a Velvet Matte Lip Pencil.

Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Fig

Sour Cream Onion Dip Recipe

Anyone who knows me knows I love dip. This is one of my favorites! It's simple, yet tastes great every time. This recipe was made by Mario Batali on 'The Chew'.

Beer Cheese Dip Recipe

Since football season is upon us, I thought I'd share one of my favorite game day dip recipes. I used to buy it pre-made, but I think I cracked the recipe! Enjoy. 

Ingredients:

2 (8oz) packages of cream cheese
1/3 cup of your favorite beer (more to taste)
1 packet ranch dressing mix
2 cups shredded cheese (I like using the triple cheddar but any is fine)


Directions:

1. In a bowl, mix together the cram cheese, beer and ranch mix. I use an electric mixer to make sure it's really well blended.

2. Stir in shredded cheese by hand.

3. Serve with chips, pretzels, bread - anything!  

 

Peanut Butter Banana Rollups

INGREDIENTS:

1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
2 whole wheat flour tortillas (8 inch)
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup low-fat granola
2 medium bananas

DIRECTIONS:

Spread peanut butter evenly over each tortilla. Drizzle honey on top of peanut butter; sprinkle with granola.
Place a banana in center of each tortilla. Fold in opposite sides; roll up burrito-style. Cut in half to serve.

Best Hairspray!

L'Oréal Elnatt hairspray is probably the best I've ever tried. It has a super strong hold but doesn't leave your hair crunchy. You can easily brush through your hair after spraying and it still holds your style. The smell reminds me of old school hairspray, the kind my grandma used. Helps fight frizz and humidity too. Seriously try this product!
